Biografie:: Earnest Hemingway (1899 - 1961) was one of the most important American writers. Besides being an author, he also was a reporter and a war correspondent. In 1918, he volunteered for the American Field Service. He was stationed at the North Italian border and the border between Germany and France, where he was seriously wounded.
